R404A Supply from China: Composition, Shipment Documents and Terms
This is the supply page for R404A (R125/R143a/R134a at 44/52/4 by weight, UN 3337), the blend still found in low- and medium-temperature commercial refrigeration, including systems being run to the end of their service life or converted. Minimum order, container load, loading port, lead time and packing are confirmed in the quotation and are deliberately not published here.
We are a trading company: the product is produced by a licensed Chinese producer and supplied under our own documentation. Group member Quzhou Huafu handles warehousing and cylinder filling for the cylinder grades in our range (R22, R134a, R410A); R404A volumes follow the packing form stated in the quotation.
Quantity and packing
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Minimum order | TBD — confirmed at quotation |
| One 20GP or container load | TBD — confirmed at quotation |
| Loading ports | TBD — confirmed at quotation |
| Lead time | TBD — confirmed at quotation |
For a three-component blend these four fields are settled only once the composition tolerance is accepted, because the tolerance determines which lots can be allocated to your order. Send quantity, destination port, packing form and tolerance with the enquiry, and the quotation will state minimum order, loading port and lead time against that basis.
Specification basis
R404A is specified by composition: R125, R143a and R134a at 44/52/4 by weight, with the accepted tolerance on each component written into the quotation. It is a mixture, so it has no single CAS number — each component carries its own — and our COA reports every component separately rather than collapsing them into one figure. Purity of the individual components, moisture, acidity, non-condensable gas and residue are reported per lot against our own specification, each result with the method behind it, and no value is carried over from an earlier lot.
Where a buyer names a standard, the quotation is made against that standard and the COA names it as the basis of analysis, so the certificate can be filed next to the specification your quality system already references. Customs classification of a mixture is settled at destination and can differ between administrations; the documents state the composition and the UN number, and the classification is answered where the entry is filed.
R404A carries a high global warming potential, which is why much of the current demand comes from operators maintaining existing equipment rather than from new installations. Where a system is being converted, the composition and the oil question belong together, and the guide below sets out the options.
Documents per shipment
- Certificate of analysis, one per lot, reporting each component against the named specification
- Safety data sheet, current version for the grade supplied
- Transport document naming UN 3337 and the class declared for the entry
- Packing list showing net weight per package
- Dangerous goods packaging certificate for the packaging used

- DG mixed loading: which classes can share a container — relevant when cylinders travel with other dangerous goods
